## 2026.10.1-beta.2

Changes since [2026.10.1-beta.1](https://github.com/openclaw/openclaw/releases/tag/v2026.10.1-beta.1), the previous npm beta-channel version. This is a hotfix beta covering 40 intervening commits, not a repeat of the cumulative October notes.

### Highlights

- **Updates and Doctor:** recover archive migrations and interrupted updates without leaving managed Gateways stopped, and restore Gateway lifecycle commands on macOS 12 and disabled Windows tasks. (#165854, #164636, #164849, #163317, #164728) Thanks @RomneyDa, @Olli0103, @hrp6vv9mwr-glitch, @szef-svg, @izrl613, @NovaUnboundAi, and @xXG0DLessXx.
- **Replies and messaging:** preserve completed answers after silent follow-ups, let Discord corrections pass deferred messages, and restore Telegram sends and buttons after channel-routed handoffs. (#164774, #164896, #159265, #165137) Thanks @obviyus, @aatreya, and @mbelinky.
- **Plugins and cloud workers:** keep plugin skills available during checkout updates, avoid slow native-prebuild scans, and include required external-plugin runtime chunks in cloud-worker bootstrap. (#165882, #165301, #165669) Thanks @RomneyDa, @goutamadwant, @exGeni, @LiuwqGit, and @JakeBotFleet.

### Changes

No new capabilities; this beta focuses on fixes and recovery.

### Fixes

- **Agent-to-agent authentication:** reject unresolved peer-token references and report actionable peer-status warnings instead of continuing with an unusable credential. (#165021) Thanks @eleqtrizit.
- **Command execution:** reject NUL-containing command arguments before starting helpers or replacing an existing run, avoiding later shutdown failures from malformed commands. (#164770) Thanks @shakkernerd.
- **Update recovery:** avoid launcher-ownership failures in non-root updates, settle pending recovery after lease-database replacement, and keep archive recovery from stranding a stopped Gateway. (#164636, #164849, #165854) Thanks @hrp6vv9mwr-glitch, @szef-svg, @izrl613, @RomneyDa, and @Olli0103.
- **Doctor and migrations:** import sessions from older completed migration receipts while retaining current sessions, verify snapshots on Linux hosts without file birthtime, and skip empty migration scans on unconfigured Matrix installations. (#164867, #164363, #165209) Thanks @hshs38033-cmd, @jayzhou2309, and @StevenKrebs.
- **Managed services:** restore stop, restart, and update commands on macOS 12 Monterey, and let Doctor recover disabled Windows Gateway tasks while status identifies the disabled task. (#163317, #164728) Thanks @NovaUnboundAi, @xXG0DLessXx, and @RomneyDa.
- **Updater compatibility:** complete the published October-beta cleanup path and retain loadable checkout-plugin skills during updates. (#165855, #165882) Thanks @shakkernerd and @RomneyDa.
- **Control UI:** keep bundled UI assets readable under arbitrary container UIDs instead of returning HTTP 503. (#165880) Thanks @RomneyDa and @Conan-Scott.
- **Channel handoffs:** restore Telegram sends and inline buttons after routed chat handoffs, and let newer Discord messages steer active work while an earlier message is deferred. (#165137, #159265) Thanks @mbelinky and @aatreya.
- **Agent replies:** keep completed answers when a follow-up produces no reply, and preserve answers that already explain an approval or input blocker. (#164774, #164896) Thanks @obviyus.
- **Memory and turns:** avoid session-indexing locks on rollback-journal databases and recover a turn when its database worker exits before an operation is dispatched. (#164624, #163258) Thanks @triciah73, @goutamadwant, and @hawkit.
- **Codex interruptions:** preserve the shared client after a confirmed interruption so the replacement turn need not wait for unrelated active chats. (#165487)
- **Gateway tools and plugins:** keep CLI bridge calls usable after the creating turn completes, and preserve plugin session state through Gateway restarts. (#165428, #164975) Thanks @nano-richtera.
- **Plugin loading and workers:** avoid repeated native-prebuild scans and include hidden runtime chunks required by external plugins when dispatching cloud workers. (#165301, #165669) Thanks @goutamadwant, @exGeni, @LiuwqGit, and @JakeBotFleet.
- **Code Mode:** improve tool-call schema compatibility by using the unambiguous `awaitResults` argument. (#165022)

**Upgrading from an already-blocked older updater:** these fixes do not patch the CLI already installed on your machine. If its preflight refuses the upgrade, install the new CLI manually before rerunning Doctor.
